2009

Boy was she fun to make! After finding pics on the Net,besides the fancy costume & hair, the eyes seemed important. Tried making them from clay to inset, but didn't really like that, so after several tries finally settled for sculpting and painting. Her "cake" is a piece of solid styrofoam packing sliced & iced with sculpting paste.

She's a little larger (24")than what I usually make but when I started out I planned to use a store bought wig so needed to have the head to fit it. Then I decided I would rather make the wig myself from mohair. I put a cut styrofoam ball on top of her head..this gave a good base for the hair, as well as the feather head dress. She was one of 8 dolls appearing in June Doll Crafter & Costuming, "Its in the Details" and runner up in SD&A celebrity look alike contest.
