A little NOTE I wrote on the board on my second visit to the school. It reads as follows: "Judith Lichwala Class of 65' Leave My School Alone". Kinda says it all doesn't it? I did not take this picture, thanks to Dave Kohram from www.forgottendetroit.com, who I might add has a fabo website - (I rate it FOUR stars) took this pic and added it to his site, whereupon I was notified that this picture was on Dave's site. I was then granted permission to use this picture on my site. Thanks Dave! Dave also has some great pics of Cyril's (top notch camera) - a must site to see, along with other GREAT photos. Hi Matt thanks again glad that another congregation stepped in to save the church. Stay safe Detroit is a scary place to work in especially if it's not far from where St. Cyril once stood.

As for the music, it reminds me of the old days, sitting on the porch of my grandmother's home in South Carolina. Best wishes to you and the St. Cyril's family.

met an unfortunate end, the memories remain for you and your classmates. What a beautiful old building, I can only imagine hearing Mass being said. And even now, my church here in Michigan was facing the same fate before another congregation stepped in to save it.

I'm originally from out of state, I grew up in New England and my school was a small parish K-8 school. I work in Detroit now, though, not too far from the area where Ss. Cyril and Methodius was located. Thank you for chronicling the history of this parish community. Even though the building(cont.)

Hi Matt: Your most welcome it was quite emotional for me that day. May I ask what is the name of the school you attended. The music I picked for this album was some time ago and yes it does sound like "home". I carefully chose music for each of my albums but I swear someone comes in and changes it!

A very heart-tugging and tear-jerking gallery. Thank you for chronicling the journey of your school--mine will be facing the same fate in the coming years. Also, if you don't mind me asking, what is the music that plays in the background here? It sounds very much like "home".
