Emett's Books

Emett's first cartoons appeared in Punch in 1939. His first work in book form was probably as illustrator for Walter de la Mare's two volumes of poetry: "Peacock Pie" and "Bells & Grass", both 1941. The dates for the other books are listed with their cover pictures.

Apart from the books shown in this album many other magazine articles and some advertising-related publications can be tracked down by the Emett fan. "Make Your Own Whisky" for Teachers is almost certainly the most common. The set of drawings in Life magazine for July 5 1954 are particularly fine.
