April 2008 April was a busy month for the Re-Gals. It started with a special Second Wednesday breakfast on April 9. It was special because we welcomed four guests ~ Etta's visitors, Ginny and Kay, our Tennessee Re-Gal, Judy/Jet from Hendersonville, and Sophie, a QMB friend from Humble, Texas. Jean and Vickie planned a wonderful day for us on April 19. We all met at the Tom Thumb parking lot in Garland (except for Jana ~ that's another story!), then carpooled down Shiloh to the Goodwill store. Several of us found great buys to increase our Red Hat wardrobes there. The next stop was Texas Thrift on Garland Road and Walnut. More great shopping opportunities! Frankie cleaned up there. After those two stores, we had worked up an appetite so we had a terrific Mexican lunch at Dos Banderos in downtown Garland. Vickie presented fantastic door prizes to Janie, Jean, Jana and Fran. Thanks, too, to Frankie for the chocolate spoons! After lunch, some of us headed farther south to a third Garland thrift store ~ the biggest one yet. Overall, it was a fun day, and the Re-Gals did our best to improve the Garland economy. |
