This is a postcard showing the map of Israel. The insert is the lower, southern half of the country, most of which is desert. Israel is a very small country of over 6,000,000 people contained in an area compared to the size of the state of New Jersey. It is surrounded by Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Egypt and Syria with Iraq, Iran, and Saudi Arabia not far away. Some 80% of its inhabitants are Jewish, many of whom and their descendants have been gathered without question from all parts of the world. As you may be able to see, there are quite a few cities, but there is also a lot of desert.
