ELLEN BLOOM paints what she knows and loves – Los Angeles. A second generation L.A. native, Ellen knows the history and tremendous growth L.A. has experienced. Her paintings record her surroundings with all the color, bright light and whimsy of the positive side of Los Angeles. Ellen has exhibited at The Stark-Kikuchi Gallery/Venice; A Votre Sante' Restaurant/Brentwood; Beverly Hills Affaire in the Garden; Metropolitan Art Gallery/Beverly Hills; Prospect of Art/Los Feliz; Future Studio/Los Angeles; Home Box Office/Century City, Libby's Vintage Home & Garden in Silver Lake and Part One Gallery in Santa Monica.

A former Los Angeles radio personality, Ellen Bloom produced and co-hosted one of the top blues radio shows in L.A., the “Friday Night Blues Revue” on Pasadena’s KPCC-Radio with blues musician, John “Juke” Logan. She engineered live in-studio performances and conducted interviews with top blues artists. Currently, Ellen works at HBO as well as working as a crochet and knitting instructor at various yarn shops in Los Angeles. She is presently creating crocheted sculptures and textile additions to her current series of paintings, "Boss Ladies," as well as to another series called "L.A. Landscapes" Ellen Bloom lives in Los Angeles with her husband, photographer, Larry Underhill.
