Ellen Bloom's series of paintings, "The Tikis of Los Angeles" is motivated by the current lounge and tiki cultural scene in Los Angeles. Ellen is inspired by the words of "Tiki News" editor, Otto von Stroheim and his Tiki Manifesto. In it Otto states "...it is our mission to preserve any and all remaining elements from the Polynesian Pop. era of the mid 1950's to mid 1970's.
