ASC

Pros: Very close to Houston. Open to public most days. Host of many NSCA events. Covered clubhouse to avoid the rain. NSCA events are conducted well, & I enjoy them, they usually throw some FTASC events too. Lots of towers & some water ponds too. Two courses offer softer & more complex target presantations. Huge grounds mean they can host major events easily. Lots of machines. Numerous corporate and charity events too.

Cons: The terrain is flat and subject to high winds in the early part of the year. Aside from the NSCA events as a walkup customer I find this course rather dull in it's current format. It is under new mgt for 2008 perhaps it will change. The shear volume of shooters here on a 7days a week cycle makes it uncomfortable for those of us who want to meander through a course & enjoy the day. If you just want to shoot some shells though your shotgun - go here. The "caddyshack" nature of the club house every time I have shot non-NSCA events here doesn't suit me.
