This book began as a personal challenge to use fashion photography in an altered book. I used a second hand book on London that fit the tall fashion images. The lyrics of My Fair Lady provided the "story" to lead the viewer through the book. By careful editing, I wove them into an abbreviated edition of the work. Here are the results. Many techniques and materials were used to create this piece. Paints, gessos, glazes, etc. I wanted to preserve the line drawings that were in the original book, but I needed to add color to tie the spreads together. The results are rich and colorful; the images are strong and compelling. It has many different textures. I used the emergence of the butterfly as a secondary theme - for obvious reasons. As Eliza becomes transformed - so does the butterfly.
