This is the birth of my custom designed dining table. I was inspired by several sources I had seen and the veneer that a friend had given me. Base is solid laminated Oak. Top is laminated plywood with veneer top and bottom. My first attempt at serious veneering. A lot of work but the result was worth it. I hope you agree.

I call this my $10,000.00 table. That's 200 hours work at $50.00/hour. I'm worth that, don't you think? The chairs belonged to my great-grandmother, hand made and are over 100 years old. The front stretchers are worn completely flat from her 12 kids and 8 grand-kids feet rubbing them over the years. I repaird them and repainted with the original colors using milk paint as original. I also built the banquette. In fact I built the whole apartment.
