So put a cable tie (or two together) around the pontoon, leave some slack. Then attach a tie or ties through a board on the pallet and have it go through the one around the pontoon. Tighten the one around the pontoon. Good luck.

We used to use a metal thing to connect the pallet but they rust out. So we use strong plastic cable ties and replace them when they break. How-to in next comment (above).

Hi Cheryl. I train the new ducks to sleep on the pallets by using one of the pallets on an underwater clothesline. I strap a cage on it and put the ducks in the cage each night, reel them out, then reel them in the morning. I try to do this 10 nights.

Thank you for your photos and information on this. I've had bad luck with losing about 12 ducks to predators. I have a mating pair left and am incubating her 6 eggs, and am going to attempt to build this style since I have all the materials.
