balloon valance with bands and ties
This is a Stroheim and Romann print on a glosheen type fabric, lined and interlined. Because the pattern is a drop match, the fabric was cut down the middle lengthwise and shifted so that the central bouquets with swans and swags were aligned. I alternated them because the larger doors (four total) had five poufs and the smaller (two at end) had four. No other way to get balance. There are matching bands with ties between each pouf; 77" wide doors had five 15.5" wide poufs and 65" doors had four 16.5" poufs. Patterned after photo on page 94, Smarth Approach to Window Decor.
