UT CLUB LAURA
Laura chose the fantastic University of Texas Club for her Saturday reception. Her cake was the all-time favorite "Fire and Orchids" design. It's a 3-tier offset that serves 168 (or 150 if she keeps the top tier). It's the Austin Cake Lady "crowdpleaser" Mexican Vanilla with a hint of lemon and almond and with Bavarian Cream filling and it sells for $2.50/serving, not including flowers or delivery. We do, however, arrange all your flowers free if you bring them to us the day before. Turquoise ribbon (now known as 'Water'instead of turquoise encircles each tier. The top tier had a monogram with a single row of scrollwork (Riverplace Scroll), the middle tier had random 'dots' and the bottom tier is the more ornate "Hannah Scroll" design. Beautiful big white cymbidium orchids with raspberry throats embellished each corner of the offset cakes, accompanied by tealights on the corners and around the bottom of the cake. It will be all lit up and glorious when the bride and groom cut their beautiful cake. The bride's mom bought a huge single stem of Cymbids because you can do that much cheaper than buying the single blooms. I think it looked absolutely gorgeous and I so hope that the newlyweds are pleased.
Don't forget to count your catering staff, your DJ/band, photographer, and anyone else who might be around your reception because they ALL eat cake and love it. :-) Call us now at 512-258-3703 and let's talk about your cake. I don't answer "Austin Cake Lady"--I answer with 'Hello'...that confuses some. :-)
