Shirley in the same clothes, the same time as the previous picture. Dr. Hlavity to the right of the picture was the chairman of the Math Dept. After college, she graduated from Hunter College with a degree in mathematics, Shirley taught at the Bronx High School of Science under Dr. Hlavaty. Dr. Hlavaty was accused of being a Communist during the era of the McCarthy hearing. He was acquitted. He was financially supported by the faculty but that is another story. My hatred of Richard Nixon stems from this episode.
