Fontainbleau Chateau.
It is finally our last day in Paris and the last day of our European, Mediterranean sojourn. This day was kind of up for grabs. We had booked a tour of Versailles. However, due to the strike mentioned before, Versailles was closed. We boarded our chauffeured car, we were the only passengers, and headed instead for Chatteau Fontainbleau. Our driver said that this famous "summer home" of royalty was at least as nice a place to visit as Versailles. I think he was right!! This structure and grounds was built in the early 1200's and saw the passing of many French Kings and other nobility through 1870. It is now a museum. We took a recorded tour through and around it.
