Notre Dame We arrived in Paris on October 23, 2001. The weather was distinctly different than the nice, warm weather we had on our cruise. It was cold, damp and raining. Obviously, the is Notre Dame Cathedral from the front. The square in front of it was somewhat crowded with tourists and beggars of all descriptions. There was a strike of workers in the museums and national monument industry, so we had a self guided tour of this beautiful church and its towers. We didn't have to pay!! Notice the scaffolding on one of the towers. The old buildings in Europe are slowly but surely getting cleaned.
