July 2007 Queen for the Day Jean came up with a unique idea for an outing on July 21. We had lunch at Black Eyed Pea, which is great in itself. We met FIVE guests - Martha, Frankie, Merle, Jo and Gayle, and had the biggest attendance in over two years! Eighteen of our nineteen local members came either to lunch, ceramics class or both. We celebrated three birthdays ~ for Billye, Katheleen and Sharon. After lunch, we drove a couple blocks to Quiggly's Clayhouse, where we were greeted by the sweet little shop owner, Kristie. We chose our projects, and Kristie gave us "the paint spiel" so we'd know which paints to choose for the most vibrant reds and purples and all the little details to make our projects turn out great. Jean gave us the nicest surprise. She had gorgeous red aprons made for each of us with BIG D RE-GALS embroidered on them in purple! Everyone had a ball painting their projects, and we'll look forward to picking up the finished products next week after they've been fired. Thank you so much, Jean, for a wonderful, fun afternoon. |
