ALYSSA'S I THEE WED
Alyssa chose a three-tier cake for her reception at Villa Antonia. It's a pale pale yellow with smoothed buttercream frosting (buttercream tastes soooo much better than rolled fondant!) As you can see, it can be smoothed to look almost like fondant and gives you the best of both worlds. The French Vanilla cake has lemon filling to match the yellow icing. Brigitte did the beautiful lettering on the middle tier which says "I thee wed.." all the way around the tier in a little darker yellow Olde English script and did the beautiful pearl dot borders when she delivered it, set it up and arranged all the flowers. She stacked the cake, added the black ribbon around each tier and did the beautiful pearl dot borders. The only embellishment on the simple but elegant cake is Swiss Dots (the little groups of three dots in triangles). Cake topper was made by Austin Cake Lady with gorgeous flowers provided by Stephanie at www.bouquetsofaustin.com and included awesome white dendrobium orchids, white calla lilies, pale green hydrangeas, fragrant stephanotis blossoms with pearls in the centers of each by Stephanie (It takes a village? :-) The cake sells for $2.50/serving, a little less for larger versions.
