May 2007

We had a wonderful lunch on May 19 at the Forestwood Antique Mall, thanks to Queen for the Day Fayrene. Twelve Re-Gals enjoyed the delicious food as we celebrated our chapter's fifth birthday. Many of us reversed our colors for the chapter birthday celebration, but only Jean had an actual May birthday.

Fayrene decorated the table with red and purple paper garland and darling Red Hat mints. Her door prizes were won by Vickie (again!), Helen and Fran, and she gifted Queen Cynthia with some huge office supplies to help her keep track of the Re-Gals.

On May 29, six Re-Gals attended an event at the Garland Senior Center, sponsored by the Great Gals of Garland. We were entertained by a comedic pianist, and learned about KAAM "oldies" radio (AM770), a frequent sponsor of the Great Gals' activities. Featured speaker was Rosemary Rumbley. In her usual funny way, she told us how she got started doing book reviews.

Vickie had two little girls visiting from Arizona, and the three of them volunteered to help serve snacks so that the girls could attend this event.
