In Deja's usual easygoing manner, she graced us with her and Sunni's litter of 6 magnificent puppies on the evening of 1-27-09. We have 1 handsome boy and 5 beautiful girls. Please meet our cast of adorable new characters!
This litter is particularly special to us, as it is Deja's very last. She has been an extremely important part of our breeding program for several years, having given us MANY outstanding contributions to the Rat Terrier breed. And the gal certainly is finishing up her breeding career in GRAND STYLE with these lovelies. Sweet Deja is such a fantastic mother, too. . .so laid-back and instinctive! We are simply THRILLED to be blessed with these thriving kiddos. They are all wonderfully chunky, hardy, active and gorgeous.
As you see, some of them are piebald spotted like Deja, and a couple of them are Irish spotted like Sunni. The boy in this litter is a black bicolor, 1 of the girls is a black tricolor, and the rest of the girls are apricots. Note to professional breeders: ALL of them carry color genetics for chocolate, blue and isabella tricolor as well as apricot, lemon, blue apricot and blue lemon (EVERY color in the Rat Terrier spectrum except for sable).
This litter's pedigree does contain the prestigeous Decker Bloodline. The estimated finishing size of these puppies is in the 15" / 23lb range, and they should have extra-strong standing ears. They should also have the most ideally stout and typey conformation! Their muscle and boning is expected to be truly exceptional with great proportion and angulation. We look forward to seeing some very impressive chests, super-robust builds and nice, wedgey heads, too. Tails docked to the breed standard and dewclaws removed on 1-30-09. 1st shots and wormings done here to 8 weeks of age. Each available puppy also comes with a comprehensive pedigree and a written health guarantee.

The names we have given these puppies are only temporary - just for identificaton purposes. Their 3-week and 6-week update photos will be posted on this album the evening after those birthdates, so stay tuned! For the privacy of the individual selectors, this album will be password protected before the posting of the 6-week update photos, and it will remain so while the reserved picks are taking place. Once they are completed, the password protection will be removed.
