Dec 12th 2002. The dominant Tree species here, before and after the fire are Knobcone Pine trees, readily identified by thier hard close packed cone on the trunk of the trees, as well as on the branches. These require fire to open, so that seeds are released. The Large tree in the front left is a Douglas Fir, and the slightly smaller one on the right is a Coastal Redwood with Chaparrel brush in the foreground.
