There are quite a few different Orchids here at Big Basin, some Rare, some Common. The names I use here are from "The Wild Orchids of California, by Ronald A Coleman." Many, if disturbed or minorly damaged, will not reproduce, with the exception of course, of the invasive species. There are many requirements for the Coral Roots Orchids just to be able to grow, and at present I cannot find anyone that can make most of these reproduce in captivity. I am keeping track of many diferent colonies, and individual orchids in Big Basin, and hopefully we will learn more about thier requirements in the years to come.
