Toyon, Aka California Christmas Tree
January 1st 2003. Photinia arbutifolia. Aka Christmas Berry due to the berries turing red at this time of the year. I have one referance book saying this is in the Apple Family, and another saying Rose Family. One medicinal books says the leaves and bark were used in a tea for specific purposes. NOTHING says you won't get ill eating the berries, and no reference anywhere, that I can find, says they are edible. White and red berries I have found are bad colors to experiment with, just look thru the poisonous plants sections for colors.
