Anticline Overlook, UT During the past 20 years, the scenic, desert town of Moab has been "discovered". The streets and parking lots are choked with cars. People flock to Arches National Park and nearby Canyonlands National Park. The unique beauty of the towering redrock formations and natural sandstone arches is lost among the noise of ATV's, jeeps and various motorized and non-motorized trail bikes. But all is not lost in this fairyland. There are still quiet, yet spectacular areas and this is one of them. Leave bustling Moab heading south on U.S. 191. Go past La Sal Junction about 10 miles to Needles Overlook Road (133 Road). Turn west (right). The road is paved and you'll see an interpretive display for Canyon Rims Recreation Area at the beginning of this road. Drive up the road about 15 miles and take the right fork (gravel) to Anticline Overlook.
