Near Luna, NM This is a quiet, dispersed camping area in Apache National Forest just off U.S. 160 west of Luna, New Mexico at the extreme western edge of the state. At an elevation of about 7,500 feet, the temperature is cool when the desert is hot. Wildflowers are especially diverse and abundant here (see our new "Wildflowers of Arizona & New Mexico Uplands" album). This is an area of very light camping use although several people drive through to ? on the backroads beyond the campsites.
