This series was based on an article in Somerset Magazine, where artist Lia Bebi of La Mesa, CA. showed her work based on fashion model images which she then altered and worked into her collages. I found that out of respect for the fashion photograpers, I didn't like to mess with their images, but instead just transported the figures onto a new background. Painting and working backgrounds is one of my favorite pastimes, so this gave me a chance to play around with my paints, glazes, and gessos.

Each piece seemed to have a story to tell, so I searched for appropriate quotes that would be incorportated into the composition. Some of these are not finished, and some never will be. They are an exercise and exploration of a technique or format that I hadn't tried before.
