Odds and Ends

Owl done with Hartley Wood brown flash. The flash was so thick it took ages to etch. It sat around for quite a time until the cats had a fight and broke off a corner of the piece. I then fused it to another piece of straw coloured Hartley Wood and hoped they would be compatible. Finally edged the owl with random squares of I hoped, complementary colours. The frame was made from one solid piece of MDF with the edges routered. The base paint on the frame was a murky pinky beige but was glazed with a brown wash which was stippled before drying. Finally a couple of coats of clear marine varnish were added.
