This is my album dedicated to Preemie babies. It started when my daughter's sister in law had twin preemies and I made them some booties. Booties were joined by hats and crocheted blankeys and little receiving blankets. When Raymond and Shaylee were born in April, he weighed UNDER three pounds and she barely topped three pounds! On August 29th, he weighed 5lb, 3oz and she weighed 7 lb, 8oz. I am SO happy that they are healthy!

I did some research online and found quite a lot of information on preemie babies, and one thing stands out! When a baby has no hat, it's body energy goes primarily toward keeping it's temperature up, in other words, retaining body heat. When it wears a hat, the hat keeps the body heat in and allows the body energy to go toward gaining weight! So, I have decided to join other people who make hats for preemies.
