Speakers Poly Natalia Speakers are for sale!!! If you are interested, please contact me. s.brull(at)hetnet.nl Thanks. The next project started is maximizing the output quality of the speakers. This will be the second step since I started building the Poly Natalia's back in 1997, designed by Dick Olsher. The speaker building project was also the first DIY audio project I started. I has brought me here today at a stage where, more or less, the whole audio chain is DIY'ed. I'll start with the X-over and will also upgrade the wiring. The x-over is now integrared, build in , the speaker cabinet. This will be taken out and a seperate x-over enclosure will be build. The new x-over will contain top quality components, selected for max transparancy and max resolution. Currently the x-over consits of Allen Bradly resitors, russian NOS paper in oil capacitors for the bass drivers and the midrange driver, Audyn tinfoil caps are used for the tweeter. The air coils are all handmade to specification by Rik Stoet. First I'll exchange the AB resistors for Duelund carbon resistors. These resistors are 15 watt, axial lead, non-inductive, pure silver lead-out, phenolic tube, pure graphite resistive element. The internal wiring is now van den Hull CS122 and will be exchanged to Audio Consulting 0,5mm pure silver with cotton sleving. The capacitor in the tweeter circuit will most probably be exchanged by Mundorf Supreme Silver/gold caps, but I'm still not sure. I also have very good results with the V-Cap TFTF and OIMP caps. So time will tell. The caps in the midrage circuit will be exchanged by V-Cap OIMP caps, in the bass circuit I'll leave the caps as they are right now, russian NOS paper in oil. |
