2006 Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival What a great time my friend Deb and I had! We were there both days, and the weather couldn't have been more pleasant. As always, there was a lot to see, and people-watching was almost as fun as seeing all the fibery things. It seemed to us both that there were fewer people than last year, and one merchant we spoke to on Sunday afternoon said they had done *almost* as well as last year. Some people had wagonloads of goods, and others were only carrying a small bag or two. We didn't get to The Fold's booth in time to see the famous Socks That Rock yarn, but we did speak with Toni, who was very nice. Only one fellow knitting guild member entered anything, and she won a first for her beautiful baby blanket. There were some wonderful entries, and I've tried to show the ones I liked best. My own aran didn't get finished in time, but I'll give it the old college try for next year! Special kudos go to guild member Genie and her team for winning first place in the Sheep to Shawl contest for the second year in a row. Will next year be a Three-peat, ladies?? |
