How do you all do?... Hope you are all that fine and healthy...

 

After a 30-day vacation in Brasil (the places Fortaleza & Cumbuco) I finally returned to my homecountry.... I have fully enjoyed my vacation and I am boosted of some new fresh energy to do the job, whatever that may be...

 

Soon I am on a mission towards Afghanistan, you can expect some great footage of pictures I will be taken. Wish me the best and some luck, 'cause I will need it...

With an estimated 900,000 spectators the annual Rotterdam Summercarnival is Holland largest event! The carnival it self last for one week however, every last Saturday of the month July the streetparade is the biggest and most favourite event of this one week during festivity. For he Royal Netherlands Army it is the 2nd time (last year for the 1st time) it joins this event. And guess who is taking the shots?... Yeah, Santa Claus! :-) ... No!!! ME!!! :-)... I am proudly presenting you the photo report of this great event and I must say: it was GREAT! It is by far my greatest event that I experienced and the best part of it: I was amid of this great event with a LOT of spectators (approx. 900,000)! Enjoy the shots...

First of all thank you so much for taking your time to view and to take a tour through my PT-site, and also your comments, feedbacks and most important of all your show of love and support! This all make me want to make those great-shots and try to improve my skills...

 

So now and then I get messages from people asking things about me and my work and... I ALWAYS give my feedback as soon as I got the time... One of the popular question you guys are asking me is: 'What's that with the file-code thing???...' Well let me explain you this that within the world of photography there are certain standards to name your files... There are a lot of possibilities. Since I work for the MOD of the Netherlands we have our method of so called 'workflow'  which I also use when I make private shots...

OK, now the explanation of it:

for example: D070605AR1234

which means; the D: stands for Digital, though I rarely shoot with films...otherwise as you may gess it can also be a F for Film-shoot...

'070605'; is a date-format of YYMMDD, year-month-date so this would be june 5th 2007 ... easy huh?... :-)

AR stands for my used name: Arief Rorimpandey, since the name Peter is used to often by civilian-photographers...

'1234' stands for the file number during that day, so on that day I made 1234-shots... now that a lot!...

 

Well guys I hope you now understand this file-code thing...

And remember you can  ask me almost anything... almost.. ;-)

Finally after serving the Army for 5 years as a military with the rank of a sergeant, I got promoted! From now on I'm official 'sergeant first class'  Rorimpandey! Sounds good huh!?... 

I will be in Norway (March 11th till March 15th) for another photoshoot (what else????) so keep posted for some new pics. This time I expect less snow and more climbing actovities... We'll see... 

Dear friends,

It seems that one of my dreams come true!... April 2nd will be the date that I will become a photographer of the Netherlands Ministry of Defence!... Which means that my photo-reports will be in someway bigger and more challenging!... I have the opportunity to become a combat-photographer=war-photographer which in my oppinion suits me most since I already am a military (sergeant). That would be real awesome 'cause I will be sent abroad to our missions in Afghanistan, Europe, Africa and so on....

I heard this good news a few days ago, wednsesday the 7th of march to be exactly, still I am not quite aware of it, for me it feels like I've won the big jackpot!...

Anyway, i would like to thank all my (PT) friends, fans, supporters... Thank you all...
Thanks to all of you I keep shooting great shots and I am very glad to share it with you guys.. and ofcourse girls ;-) hahaha...

18 hours after my photoshoot for FHM I have arrived in Norway to do a photoshoot for the 11th (NL) Airmobile Brigade. My colleagues are busy doin a cold weather excercise and since I'm the Brigade-staff photographer I'm goin to have their actions on footage!...

 

I'm in love with this country, it's cold but sooooo beautiful! Check out the scenery photo's and you know what I mean!...

 

Well, in the near future I wil upload some more photo's on my account. At this time I have to do it with the photo's I can use for my site...

 

I'm glad to share it with you guys... and girls... And remember how beautiful our world is!...
