It is wonderful being married. Even if it takes a while to find the right person... it is worth the wait... 33 YEARS is how long it took me. Seems like a long time but in retrospect-think of all the years to come! We are enjoying our life. We sit out in the backyard and enjoy the garden and hummingbirds. Pretty wonderful that you can sit and talk to your soul mate. Just great that I have found mine. "Have to kiss a few frogs first" is what I hear. It is just different now... realizing that meeting the love of you life can make such a big difference. I do think if you have to think about it... it is not right. Every situation is different though... in mine, if you have to date for 3 years then still know it is not right and the night before your wedding you are griping about him to friends...NOT A GOOD SIGN! Never too late to get out of a wedding. Everyone needs to remember that! I know all the money, the rings, the dress, flowers... all a big expense. That big expense means nothing when you are 6 years down the road and still not happy. Think you know someone after 3 years? You may not know them after 10 years! If they lie and cheat at the beginning, you must remember they are not going to change one bit! I guess if someone finds God they can change but I still don't think that would make that big of a difference in someone's character. Ended up, my absolute true soul mate that I was meant for my entire life was in my home town... and I thought I had to move north to find 'the one'. Not always true... NEVER go looking for him! Imagine that you don't even have to have a church wedding and spend $20k to make a marraige work. You can have a simple backyard bbq and actually have time to remember the day and visit with family and friends and spend ALOT less money... the marriage is either right or wrong... You know it from the beginning-even if it takes getting divorced and remarried to realize it... One day you do open your eyes and wake up! That is when the BEST things in the world happen! AMAZING things! Posted on 05/11/2007 05:48 AM
