November 18th & 19th was the date and Nambucca Heads was the venue. We had some fantastic weather and even better courses. They were tricky but not necessarily long, and some of the best looking shots you've ever seen. The scores were really close in a number of divisions and it was anybody's game really.
The presentation dinner on Sunday night was fantastic. Held at the local bowls club, the meal was great and it was great to see everyone picking up their trophies and seeing what we had all achieved throughout the year. Caboolture did well again, with quite a number of archers bringing home trophies for National and State competitions as well as a couple of Shooter of the Year awards.
Because we can't take cameras onto the ranges, these photos are mostly from the two Top 10 events.

0 Comments Traditional Corrival
This year the Corrival was the biggest and best it’s ever been with 80 archers in attendance. A huge credit to Gary, Glenn, Perry & Dave who organized this shoot again. Flyers were sent out early all over the land, and we had archers come from as far away as Newcastle, NSW to attend the shoot. It was great to meet the boys from Hunter Valley Traditional Archers, and with names like Garden Gnome, Master, Towball and Losty, you can imagine the larrikins that these guys are! These traditional shoots are always lots of fun and everyone seemed to have a great time from Friday through to Sunday.
With shots including the running pig (moving target), tree stand (up the ladder for some wicked downhill shots from the scaffolding), pipe shots (shooting through a big concrete pipe), speed round (shoot as many targets as you can in 30 seconds) Flu Flu, and an Iron cane toad, where you had to shoot the 10 ring or your arrow was toast, there was lots of fun and laughter on the courses.
With the scores all collated it was time for trophy presentations and I think there were a few surprised people who took out a place in their division. There were also trophies for overall highest score, for highest score in the Flu Flu, Running Pig, Tree Stand and the Speed Round. Also there were trophies awarded for the various arts and crafts that were entered in our first ever Archery Crafters Guild. Lastly the raffle, which had some fantastic prizes donated by our many wonderful sponsors. As always Glenn did a wonderful job in obtaining donations for the raffle and we had some great prizes including books, magazine subscriptions, DVD's, camping equipment and archery gear. Thank you to all of our sponsors who donate prizes year after year, and to those who donated for the first time this year. We cannot thank you enough for your generosity! Thanks also to everyone who attended the shoot, especially the guys who travelled so far....we hope to see you all again next year.

September 23rd & 24th was the date and the Caboolture Bowmen club grounds was the venue. One hundred archers came to have a shot at getting first place in their division...or just for the fun of the game. Great courses were set by our range setters and they proved that shots don't have to be long to be tricky! Check out some of those targets in the photos.... Posted on 09/25/2006 11:53 PM

August 6th was the date for our annual turkey shoot in 2006. Held on the club grounds it was great to see some 60+ archers attend. Some outstanding performances were from James Smedley who top scored for the day and Lyle Johnson who won his division, and won the Best of the Best from the green peg, and had the second highest score for the day. Everyone had a fun day shooting the tricky little turkeys....have a look at some of the photos. Posted on 09/18/2006 03:01 PM
