Very nice day today. We went to Walkersville to have hot dogs and hamburgers with our daughter and her family. I had quality time with both grandsons. Christopher helped me with the guitar. He is helping me understand tabs. It would be a lot faster to learn a song, but since I read music it is difficult to learn a new way. He is teaching me to play the banjo guitar duel. I have a long way to go. Justin played the songs he will be playing in a concert later this month.
July 4th was always a favorite holiday for me. Mother would fix a picnic basket with fried chicken and potato salad. We would all get in the car and our dad would start driving to find a flat place to eat and a creek with a little water. At least up to our knees. Often we would get back and stop at the Starland Drive In and watch a movie and fire works.
The 4th of July doesn't seem the same these days. We need to bring back that excitement.
