About Me: Artist, Soul Seeker, Searcher |
| I never know what to say in these description areas. How much can one say about themselves in a few paragraphs? How much do you really want to know about me? I don't mind telling you if you want to know. There's always hope I'll make some friends, actually meet somone here, and some good will come of this. I'm creating this primarily to catalogue and highlight my artwork. It can be a frustrating occupation. The worse part for me I suppose is the lonliness. Studio painting that I currently do is a solitary occupation. I am a bachelor and live by myself. A close second is the lack of funds. I am a creatively motivated person. I always have been. It is like a calling for me I suppose as religion is for some people. It hasn't ever been real easy and still isn't, yet I persist. I guess you have to really believe in and love something a lot to continue at it when there are so few rewards. And I do. Yet I like many artists am also lazy and am prone to procrastination. Maybe I'll find a bit of inspiration, stimulation and motivation here. I can only hold out hope. I am as I said a lonely romantic soul looking for that silver lining, that pot of gold at the rainbow's end.

Introduce Yourself:
At this point in my life it'd be real nice to meet a sweet and mature lady. I don't neccessarally mean mature as in agewise, but mature as in confident in herself and relations. I was married once recently. It was a short marriage which failed because though we were good friends and got along that way we were just too different in our ways of life. It was very hard on me when she left the relationship after about 15 months of being marriage. That was 3 years ago now and I am still feeling bad about it. I have been by myself ever since... I am a sensitive romantic, playful yet serious, affectionate, tolerant to a point, compassionate and spiritual with solid beliefs and am inwardly religious. I am sincere and good natured. |
Favorite Music & Bands:
I listen to a wide variety of music. Before I became so involved with what I'm doing now I fancied myself as a musician. I was on one of those 'I wanna be arock star' trips. And I was, sort of. I was in a band with some of my high school buddies as a teen. We played hard rock and were popular with the party crowd. I played synth and keyboards. Don't wanna make myself sond old but this was back in th 70's. We covred songs by bands like Led Zeppelin, ZZ Top, Styx, UFO, Edgar Winter, Hendrix, David Bowie; you get the picture, as well as played some originals. Then in '79 I moved to Chicago and was interested and involved in the thriving Punk scene there then and was in a concept band called ZERO tech Control. Those were some wild times! I met some interesting people and became aware of a much larger art scene there. It was pretty cool and eye-opening for a still wet-behind-the-ears kid from the burbs. I was involved in bands and into the musician thing up until about the 90s when I started to paint and my music interests took a back seat. I was my 30s then. Musically and generally I'm very open minded and if I like something I'll get into it. I don't have an exclusive particular mindset, say, heavy metal, that I am set on. I've done it all from performing and studio work and recording to roadie work and the tech end. Today I just listen to my CDs and radio and sing along. I have tons of music I listen to from Classical to Jazz to Blues to Adult Contemporary, World Music, even some Gospel. And of course good old rock and roll; hard, metal, and punk as well as the classics. |
Favorite People You Know:
I know some interesting people. In my 'younger' days I was something of a party animal, a wild man really, I used to get around. - now I'm more of a homebody. I was good buds with a guy named John Mason Skipp. We used to play music together and hang out quite a bit. He's a New York Times best selling author now and lives outside LA. He just published a book called 'Conscience'. He's best known as a horror writer and hopes to make a movie soon of one of his stories. He's written for some horror films already but wants to make his own. He's a real good guitar player too and actually just a creative genius. A real interesting guy. Then there's my homies from ZERO tech; Occupant, Nerveboy, Flash, Gogo, and Patient... That was during my Chicago days when I also met and partied with some interesting people; Frank Nardicello (lead singer for a band called the Thrill Kill Cult) and Al Jourgenson (Ministry) were in a band together then called Special Affect. They were sorta the house band for the punk scene in Chicago at that time. It was real cliqui and artsy then and I was part of that and knew everyone. Things have changed since. Chris Davis is another awesome musician I know. I've worked and played with him on a number of occassions. His most recent band is called Lucid Dreamers with Stacy Young. They have a couple CDs out. Chris is kinda a hippy newage guy but real cool and spiritual. A good guy and good friend, and one of the most outstanding musicians I ever met. I've met some people online who are pretty interesting as well but I'm not going to mention any more names. |
