Steel itself IS the statement and classical designs are still here for a reason! Art Deco and Art Noveau were significant enough contributions to the design of steel elements that they will last and become classical in themselves. "China" steel and other imports are mostly junk, made of light-weight and poor quality steel. If not mine, find another local craftsman to create steel elements for your home and garden. You will get a better product, American made, and
you will not be sending your money overseas.
President Obama! It was great to be in DC for this dad! There were tears and shared hopes and fears, and some very disappointed people. I have talked to just about all my friends today, but you're probably asleep by now (the news people were calling the election for obama an hour ago), so I'll write to you instead.
My roommates are shouting in the streets, but I'm off to bed. I have class early tomorrow.
