About Me |
Thanks for stopping by. I have been doing some kind of woodworking for 20 yrs. but I got into scrolling about 7 yrs ago and love it. If you see something you like and wish to buy some of my work, send me an email or leave a message here. I recently joined the River City Art Association, and my work is available for sale at the Monroe Regional Airport. There a few portraits and some of my ornaments displayed there in the restuarant. Please see Deb to order or make a purchase. When you sign the guest book, your e-mail will only be available to me so I can reply back to you. If you are looking for something special that is not already available, let me know and I will try to make it. Some of the patterns I use came from the internet or books. I am learning to make my own patterns and recently began doing personal portraits by special order.
I like country music and classic Rock & Roll. Movies, well I like them all. (When I have time to watch them). I like Thrillers & action and comedies mostly. Other interests are fishing and hunting. |

Mac's Wood Art |
| Mac's Wood Art is the name of my business. I have been doing scroll saw art for 7 years now. I mainly got my patterns from books and the internet, This was ok, but I always wanted to make my own patterns. With the help from friends and some books, I have acheived this goal. I am now making my own patterns from pictures: either photographs I take myself or one furnished by someone else. Either way, this is where the real art work comes in. I did a pattern of myself from a picture taken of me; both the photo and the pattern I made from it are posted in my album "Mac's Patterns". The finished wood portrait will be posted later, after it is framed. I have since done wood portraits of other people, including a friend's Mom and an aspiring local entertainer, Chancie Neal. The photo, pattern, and finished wood portrait of Chancie are all posted in this same album. I am often asked how I learned my art. I have to give the Lord all the credit for that. I have always loved to work with my hands, but God placed the talent there for me to discover and develop. It is through God's grace that my skill continues to increase, and it is He who keeps my hands safe. I have taken my talent "on the road" and have started displaying my wood art for sale in local craft shows and fairs. God opened the door for me to witness for Him as I explain to people how the portraits are done. It reached the point where I needed a helper, and once again, God answered the need. He sent me a helpmate, Deb, who will become my wife in the spring. She is learning my craft, and God has given her a talent as werll. She never meets a stranger, so talking to people as she markets my work comes easy for her. She is a good "people person" and doesn't pass up an opportunity to tell people that God placed us together. May God bless you as He has us. Mac |
