A little about me... |
My buddhist name is "Ji Shin" which means, compassionate heart/mind. I am an ordained buddhist priest in the Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji-ha tradition (a form of japanese pure land buddhism)...ok with all that aside...I have been doodle-ing for the last 43 years of my life. taking up a paint brush, pencil crayon and my most favorite a BLACK SHARPIE...can't get enough of my sharpie! During a recent stay in the hospital for a hysterectomy, a nurse that was tending me began to talk about some art that she was working on...she showed me a magazine that featured some ATCs...and a huge light bulb went on in my head (and no it was not because I was heavily medicated either...lol) I have been creating my own personal ATCs almost all my life in one form or another..most are lost to relocating, garage sales, friends and family members' gifts..so during my last 7 days at home recuperating, I have set up my studio in the middle of my little basement apartment in Anchorage, Alaska and working through the wee hours of the morning experimenting like a mad artist should!!!
So now I begin the most nerve wracking part..sharing with others...enjoy (or not), but let me know what you think, really I can handle it (I think)....(smile)
In peace with palms together,
Jishin

I am an artist... |
i am moody, selfish, carefree, throw caution to the wind, give everything away, keep everything for myself, a loner, a groupie, perfectionist, a slob, a good mom, a bad parent, dark and unresponsive when overwhelmed....i am all of these things and then some...
here is a small glimpse inside my world of creativity...
it may not make sense to you, but it does for me...
enjoy or not
it is what it is
