"NOT TO DIE ON THE STRAW AT HOME,
THOSE HANDS TO CLOSE THESE EYES,
THAT IS ALL I ASK, MY DEAR,
FROM THE OLD MAN IN THE SKIES.
DAY-BREAK AND A CANDLE END.

My Dad. At age 37, as a firefighter, a brickwall caved in and left him unable to do all the physical things he was so used to. He lived in pain, at times unable to walk, but never complained and never stopped being a father.
My Sister. In a long 4 year fight against breast cancer she kept her faith, and sense of humor and never stopped fighting. 21 days before her death she talked about coming to see me when I got to Ecuador.
I'm lucky to have known such people.

BACK |
Been away a while. My Sony went south and can't get Sony to honor their contract. Got a new camera and lens -Canon Rebel- and hope to get out there to places outside the city.
Hard to believe that in August I will have been here a year. In a few more months I will have to declare my intentions on re-upping for another year. And, thank God, will be getting an R&R to the States.
My wife is studying computer graphics at a local college...Illustrator, graphics, 3 D. She is taking 28 credit hours. That seems to be the norm here. And really wacky to me.
Till later
be safe |
