About Me |
I am 48 years old, recently divorced, which was not my choice. My husband left after 14 years of marriage. He said I was no longer the person he married. I must admit that statement is true. I have a Chronic Illness that has made it impossible for me to be the active, healthy person he married. It was the week before Christmas 2007 and while trying to deal with my illness (which is worsened by stress ) and the fact I would no longer be able to work, this is the time he chose to leave. I tried to get him to change his mind, but his mind was made up. In the beginning he told me that he needed some time apart and he needed time to get his head straight. About 2 weeks later I received an email from him letting me know that he wanted a divorce. Our divorce was final in October 2008, he was remarried shortly there after. It has been a long and bumpy ride, but I am finally getting over the loss, the feeling of rejection, abandonment and worthlessness. I have also realized that I am really much better off without him.
I am a big believer in EVERYTHING IN LIFE HAPPENS FOR A REASON. . One good thing did come out of all of this. A friend encouraged me to start painting. She bought all of the supplies I needed to begin and I gave it a try. I must say that I was truely amazed at how much it helped me to focus on something other then being left behind, It also helped to relieve some of the physical and emotional pain I was going through. Thank God for my dear friend that gave me the art supplies and introduced me to painting. I am by no means a great artist, not even a good artist. But, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and there are those that do enjoy my paintings and have bought a thing or too. I have resently starting painting ACEO cards.I have not sold one yet, but maybe someday, someone will find the beauty in my work and if nothing else ,it gives me a calming effect and some peace in my life. On my good days when I am not in so much pain, I get out my paints and brushes and transform myself into a surreal, majestic world that has been such a treasure in my life and helps me through some really rough times.
I also create painting on old scratched c.d.'s and paint various sizes of painting. Some framed and others without frames.
Now, in this month of Feb. I have started to paint pictures of dogs. The first dog picture I painted was of my precious dog, Magic. Magic was a gift from God. While my brother was working at PetSmart someone brought Magic in to get him groomed and asked if they knew of anyone that would want to adopt him, because they were moving into an apartment and they would not be able to keep him. My brother brought Magic home and as soon as that precious angel walked in the door he was my dog. He followed me everywhere I went. He slept on the floor next to my bed. He was the most lovable dog. The reason I said that Magic was a gift from God is because he came into my life when I was at the lowest I had ever been in my life. I cryed for months after my husband left and Magic when come to me and give me a hug and try to make me feel better. He would wrap his head and body around me on one side and then the other. He was such as blessing from day one. When I started to come around and dig my way out of the dark hole I was in because of the divorce, a month later Magic went to sleep and never woke up. I get all choked up just typing this. The night he die, he did not sleep on the floor next to my bed, instead he stayed in the living room and sleep a rug in front of my couch. The next morning,,I waked through the living room and said...come on Magic, it is time to go outside...he never moved. It wasn't until I got down and the floor and raise his head up...that I realized he was gone. He was one of God's angels to help me through a bad time in my life and when his job was done....he passed on. The love I had for my precious, sweet Magic was what inspired me to painted a picture of him, from a photo that I had taken of him. I miss him so much.

My Three Dogs:
I have 3 dogs that give me unconditional love, are always happy to see me, They can tell if I am sad or upset about something and they comfort me. I have a sheltie named Magic Bear. Magic actually gives me a hug with his head pressed against my chest. Then, there is Clyde. Clyde is more like a Clydesdale. His mom was a Great Pyrenees and his dad an Australian Shepherd. But, Clyde is more Pyrenees than Shepherd. He is huge. He can stand in front of me with his paws on my shoulders. And last but certainly not least, I have a 4 lb. Pomeranian named Suzy Q. She is 12 years old and her health is getting poor, she has breathing problems, arthritis and other health problems. But, she is my sweet little darling. She is very fragile. |
My favorite quote:
" I long to accomplish a great and noble task, but it is my chief duty to accomplish small tasks as if they were great and noble." ~ Helen Keller ~ |
I would rather give than receive.:
I love to give a gift to someone and watch their face light up from the excitement and joy of . At Christmas, I am always the last one to open my Christmas presents, because I get more enjoyment from watching others open their gifts.
