Soy Sensible pero Guerrera...ya lo veran!

irenit1's Interests

Tengo diversos intereses y estoy dispuesta a conocer y aprender...

I am a Peruvian girl with dreams and goals, as every girl of my age I suppose. I am a ballet dancer, really a passion and a curse at the same time, and I belong to National Ballet of Peru. I don't get things easily -I use to say that I'm pineapple 'cause in Spanish "piña" (pineapple translation) means bad luck- but finally when I succeed I feel in heaven, hugely satisfied. With a lot of interests, I always am willing to meet, know and learn...

Do you wanna know one of my personality traits? Try with this...if you want, increase difficulty level...

A friend of National Ballet taped few seconds of my rehearsal of pas de trois from Le Corsaire ballet. Image is not as clear as it would be desirable but it's me dancing...

"Cry, cry, cry until you feel weak before the event you care so much, then the things will go okay, even better than you expect or wish"

Well, I know it sounds a little supertitious but it works for me...for example, last week I was going to celebrate my birthday at a disco but suddenly in the afternoon of that day I felt nervous and almost believed that nobody would attend to it maybe because I was dull...I began to cry, my eyes swallowed up but after a while I felt relaxed...in the night, everything worked perfect, I had a lot a fun, nobody missed in the ocassion and I felt really happy realizing that my friends do love me! This quote also has worked in ballet situations, before a performance or a contest...i don't look too pretty, that is true 'cause my eyes and face are out of shape owed to crying, but I meet my goal!

RULES I LIVE BY:

(Do what you want but without hurting or harming anybody)

Ayudar a los que verdaderamente necesitan
(Help people that really needs to be helped)

(Behave yourself as you say outloud)

(Everybody needs to have a chance, even the worst person of the world has something that can be rescued)

Ser buena pero no tonta
(Be kind but not stupid)

(Learning is an endless enterprise)

Buscar la perfeccion en lo
que se hace
(Seek perfection)

Desarrollar la sencillez
(Be natural)

Es mejor uno que ninguno
(One is better than none)

I'm evaluating the new ones, f/e nominated or winners of Oscar awards...
Oh, I've three more:
Dreamgirls: a good story and superb performance when singing of Jenn Hudson...Beyonce looks very, very beautiful but somewhat stiffy...Jamie Foxx looks handsome and sometimes during the movie picture, I forgot he was playing a selfish, ambitious and maybe wicked manager paper...Eddie Murphy...sorry, I don't like him here even though he was Oscar nominated for supporting actor.
Letters from Iwo Jima: Almost a masterpiece, Clint Eastwood is a great, great director, but I realize that it goes on in a slow and non-commercial tempo.
Little Miss Sunshine: amusing movie picture that mixes drama and comedy...Alan Arkin is great but his performance is too short for deserving the Oscar...well, maybe it is the award for his whole career...Abigail Breslin, cute, smart, lovely, a talent, plays an unforgettable paper... she makes me remember Dakota Fanning...maybe because the two of them seem to have a brilliant future...in the film, I also find Greg Kinnear whose paper in As Good as it Gets I like a lot and Toni Colette whose paper in the Sixth Sense made me realize that she is a very good actress...after seeing it, we learn that not well functioning families can be lovable.

Another good film is the following:

Zangy Comment Graphics

Tu me dijiste...
Tu no eres BONITA, eres HERMOSA

"And I am telling You I'm not Going"
Every time I see Dreamgirls, I can't but get moved by Jennifer Hudson's interpretation of the above mentioned song...surely she deserved the Oscar just for that...yes, there are girls that know what is love, give their heart to beloved boy, fight but also suffer for their love...well, even though I would love deeply a boy... if he rejects me in some way....i wouldn't insist so much...i would know when to set aside...i could ask for love, demand explanations if something is going wrong...persuade him to change his mind...but begging...not at all...going back to the song, it is so romanthic!

  Ballet Performance on Friday
The whole company is about to have a fit of hysterics, in fact we have'd little time for rehearsals. The program consists on two contemporary choreographies: Dana Tai Soon Burgess's Silk Road and Carmen Rozestraten's Que hay debajo de la peluca. And two classic dances: Pas de Paysans and Paquita. I'll participate in Que hay debajo de la peluca, Pas de Paysans and Paquita...in the last one, I'll have a hard part that demands technique, musicality, style and energy...a lot of energy...it's good to face challenges but my body is already shaking. In Paquita, I'll dance Pas de Trois, with entree, variation and coda and a little bit later, a variation with sautees, turns and balances. Wish me luck!

I'm happy for my performance during the first week of "summer" season of National Ballet of Peru. Main challenge was to get enough energy and to distribute it well in order to could dance Paquita's pas de trois (entree, variation, coda) and few minutes later, the jumping variation! This supossed to manage food, water, breathing, nervous, technique and interpretation. I did all pretty well and I can do it much better. Feedback I received moved me a lot, almost all comments have been lovable and, of course, I've received one or two negative comments but I use to welcome them 'cause they help me to progress. Critics point this time to the fact that I'm smiling too much and they say that this doesn't look natural...well, I think that eventually I'll control this excess but I'm not being false smiling like that...I feel the music...

Second Week Ballet Performance

Second week ballet performance and "summer" ballet season of National Ballet of Peru are over and I'm nor happy nor sad. What's going on? Well, as confirming my "pineapple" condition, something had to happen. When we return to rehearsals, after first week of performances, male dancer of Paquita "pas de trois", which I danced, came to class just for saying he'd a foot injury and afterwards gave to the director a medical certificate and the indication of 10 days of non-working. So we couldn't dance the pas de trois even though we tried very hard to look for a substitute...my motivation level went down and I realized that again my family and friends that were going to see the performances wouldn't learn what my true abilities were. On second week Friday, I danced two variations, one corresponding to pas de trois(but not entree and coda) and the other to Paquita in general...I controled a little bit my smiling and did better jetes but not still perfect...praises came from spectators and my companions but I'm in doubt with them...happily dance always provides new chances! Saturday and Sunday coudn't be worse taking in consideration my expectations...when I arrived to class, everybody was with their non-ballet clothing on and ballet clothes, makeup, accesories were far away...it seemed that they were going on strike and I wasn't wrong. The company have'd decided not to make the performances as a protest measure for work maltreatments from upper authorities, specifically they wouldn't recognize our right to have a free day after working on saturday and sunday, that is, extra days...Finally we made the performances 'cause public raised their voice and was totally in contrary to the decision...this time , all variations of Paquita, except the corresponding ones to pàs de trois, weren't performed...almost all dancers complained for not being warmed up and told the director they weren't ok for dance...I do was but that's another story...I danced just one variation...everybody congratulated me but...there'll be another chance in june or july...I wanna begin to practice since right now...bye
