A CALL for HOPE... |

I'm Edilberto Magpayo, the Program Manager of Palawan Conservation Corps, an environmental non-governmental organisation here on the island of Palawan, Philippines... Our program focus on a six months residential program for the out of school youth or the less fortunate childrens here in the province.... We conducted several activities for our six months residential program like; wellnes and lifeskills (values formation), capacity building such as leadership, team building, gender sensitivity, theater worksop and writeshop,
popular education and personality enhancement, environmental restoration like basic
ecology,bioengineering, tree planting, making of nursery and coastal or water clean up, netwroking and advocacy and information education communication campaign. Aside from these we also offer them technical skill with the help of TESDA or Technical Education Scientific Development Authority. This will help them to find a good job after the program and they can help their family when they return to their respective communities.
At this stage our program is facing a lot of challenges, a challenge that sometimes hard to
confront. But were still fighting and facing the battles, because we believed that God gave us
these challenges for a possible purpose and reason and I can feel that one of this purpose is
to teach us to be strong, be brave and use our initiatives and advocacy and look for a possible partners for the continuation of our program for the youth and environment of Palawan.
I actually did this for so many times, surfing the net, networking with other agencies, then we actually submitted proposals in different agencies and foundation for our project to the youth and environment of palawan, but then nothing happened. But as I've said im still pursuing to go in searching for some partners, for us to be able to continue what weve started here in Palawan because we strongly believed that still the YOUTH IS THE HOPE OF OUR ENVIRONMENT AND THEIR COMMUNITIES.
In this relation, in behalf of our office and our program here in Palawan, I am knocking at your door and your heart to please help us and be our partners for the realization of these one of a kind program for the youth and environment of the Philippines' last ecological frontier, Palawan. We hope that through this site you will be able to extend your help to us

To a dear friend who love the natures like me! His name is edongdugong but he used paradiseboy35 as his pseudonym...
have you ever thought from an image of a young boy;
with his roots, what is he going to be, when he grow up?
have you ever wondered;
who taught him to read and write;
create poems from his heart?
have you ever asked;
who led his path and guide his directions?
from a shattered family,
he was left alone; became a man full of passion!
he made a career out of his own;
he collected artifacts, he builts from nothing;
and decorated a home;
have you ever seen his passion taking photographs
of people and nature?
as he air his voice, he reaches the nation;
supporting the community, and models the new generation!
he calls himself, a "Paradise Boy35";
who love to climb mountains;
racing down the streets with his bike till dawn;
I only see him on the screen;
wearing bandanas, with dark glasses for protection!
have you ever felt his heart beat?
when he paddles canoe; or diving the ocean;
searching for corals, or shooting the sunsets
and the rising of the sun;
playing in the sand, and laughing with the children
he can be more fun!
Oh, paradise like you;
having an endless dreams,
thinking what the future will bring!
may the wind blows, lift me up in the air
and sit on the rainbows and kiss the sun!
jumping to horizon and landed on your land;
and witness from my eyes the beauty;
that lies within the isles of turquise streams;
and bubling brooks and sound of rivers;
of your beloved land;
may I sit and watch the crystal waves
to think and feel the grains of the sand;
to play under the palms, clear water or
hiding in the forest or digging the farms!
Oh, Paradise like you; gives life to the weak;
calmed the confused mind!
