Donna's Interests
FAVORITE:
Life is like a television screen. The quality of reception depends on our perception. Be a High Definition thinker on a plasma screen in a black and white world. And don't let anyone mess with your remote. ~ Me

  QUICKSAND by Donna Marino

~ Published in Mississippi Crow Magazine

Treading dangerously upon watery sand—
with deceptive tongue, walking hand-in-hand.

Glazed over eyes often failing to see—
a sudden decrease in stability.

WORDS. . .

A mere mix of water and clay—
stifling more with each passing day.

Sharp grains of sand grinding at you—
Its cold dense grip, you cannot eschew.

Losing your ground as the guile grows thicker—
yielding to fate, you begin to sink quicker.

Slipping deeper in desperate despair—
gagged by your lies and pleading for air.

Struggle ensues in this coarse pool of death—
soon your betrayal shall breathe its last breath.

Beguiling words, cryptic deception—
led to your sinking in faulty perception.

Slow sinking ships and thwarted schemes—
swallowed by death beneath sandy streams.

Plead now or hold your own peace.
Beseech those offended for tender release.

Reach out for mercy’s hand—

OR. . .

Thrash in the turmoil of
self-imposed quicksand.

flourish 'neath summer's ebrace
         fall by winter's sting

Melodic waves play

Hi Donna, thank you so much for your comments. I am glad the shots I've made made you 'feel' something. In that case my statement as a combat-photographer has been reached to the viewers. Hope you are all doin' well and keep up the good and fun work with your photography! Stay safe,

Hello. Thanks for adding me. :)

You're quite welcome. I'm assuming I am the first because it seems there are more 'hunters' on this site than actual 'photographers'. I've had a time searching for members who are actually interested in the art and are not simply sex crazed animals.

Thank you for accepting, by the way. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

I learned something everyday Donna. I started in Photography in 2003. Graduated from p+s to D50, then D80 and now D90. I'm getting into video and thats why I went with the D90. Currently a photographer and video editor for Ultimate Cage Wars here in Winnipeg. I love action photography and there is no better challenge then shooting through a cage, set to manual with no flash allowed. i love every minute of it. Have a fight card tomorrow night and will post pics of the event when I can. Thanks for the invite to you friends list. Your the first!!

i sometimes do when i want to have maximum capabilities to later the picture or if it is a speciaal picture. Then i shoot raw and jpg highest quality just to be sure. Since you can alter raw images without loosing quality wich is not the case with JPG. But most times i just throw them away because they eat to much mb's and the JPG picture is adequate.

thx for the compliment but im also just a amateur. Been long since i had time to pick up the camera. Maybe this summer again. Great hobby though. What would improve your pictures is some more sharpness. dont know if it's just the way the jpg compression to a smaller format takes it away, but could be helped with photoshop.
