About Me |
When I was growing up my grandparents were antique dealers living in Tennessee so I spent my summers snooping through all of the antiques in their shop. I think this is where I developed my love of vintage items. I learned to sew when I was a little girl and often made dolls and doll clothes. About 20 years ago I started designing and making vintage looking cloth dolls. I now use various media, methods and techniques in the making of my dolls. I'm always experimenting with new ideas. Most of my dolls are painted in oil paints and given a "time worn" look. My favorite antique cloth dolls were made by Izannah Walker in the mid 1800's but I also love Emma and Marrieta Adam's Columbian dolls from the early 1900's.
