What I do for a Living :) |
I used to have a long commute from my home in Santa Clarita Valley to Van Nuys. It was only 25 miles but it would take me nearly 90 minutes to get to and from work each day, each way.
Circumstances in my life and my job changed and I was faced with no income and bored to tears staying at home. One day Mitch came home from work and said he had seen an advertisment on the back of a mini van for working at home.
We checked it out and after researching the company and talking to the woman who owned the van we purchased some product and then signed up!
I've been working it ever since and it was one of the best decisions I've made!

Interests & Hobbies:
Right now I'm very interested in Personal Growth. I came to the realization that as long as I'm working on growing as a person then everything else in my life would start to fall into place!
I believe that you get back from the universe what you put into the universe! I'm not a kook, just know what works for me.
I love anything in nature and have photo's of Flowers all over my walls. I grow orchids for fun and enjoy playing with our two cats Molly and Gizmo.
I am also a SCUBA diver and love experiencing the world from 60 feet under the ocean surface. We have been very fortunate to have been diving with some of our planets most amazing creatures big and small!
Mitch and I love traveling to tropical places and have been to Hawaii and Tahiti as well as the Caribbean.

Western Regional Conference |
ZOW! What an undertaking this was for Mitch and I. We could have never guess the level of success this first time event would bring not only us as business owners, but for every person in attendance.
It was our pleasure to provide an arena for like minded people to gather and spend a day learning how to grow their business and themselves!
I know the growth process that I went through will bless me for years to come!

Check out Bob |
Ever since I moved from my Mothers home I've wanted a Poodle. My mom and Grandmother raised them when I was young and I've missed having a dog, especially a Poodle.
For Christmas this year, Mitch scored major points by getting me Bob. Bob is his nickname, his formal name is Robert .
Don't forget to check Bob out. I just started a new album for Bob.

Bob Health Update |
January 10, 2008 Bob Update:
Bob still struggles with Valley Fever and has had quite a few ups and downs over the last year. So much so that we decided to build Bob his own website and do his weeky Paw Posts there. Learn more about Bob's disease and get updates on his condition by visiting his website at www.BobsGreatAdventure.com
April 10, 2007 Bob Update:
We took Bob to the Vet for his checkup over the weekend. He has been doing very well! Mitch cut way back on his cough medicine while I was traveling because he just didn't seem to need it.
Bob has gained 3 pounds since our last visit to the Vet, which is amazing because he's turned into a very picky eater. Now our challenge is to get him on a balanced doggy diet instead of a yummy "I'm having what Mommy's having" diet.
His lungs were clear for the first time since we brought him home in December and that made me VERY happy!
We did have quite a scare when they started recalling pet food because most of what they recalled was what we had for Bob. I guess it's lucky for us that he only wanted to eat what I ate.
We also get to discontinue one of Bob's antifungals which will bring Bob down to only one pill a day. I'm sure he will be thrilled not to have me shoving pills down his throat thoughout the day any more.
So Bob is on the mend, we have won a battle with this disease, but we still face the war. As of right now, he will continue on the antifungal for a year and then we will try and take him off of it.
Original Post on Bob:
Bob developed a cough shortly after we got him home. The first diagnosis for Bob was Kennel Cough. We knew nothing about Kennel Cough but were told he would get better but it would take a couple of months. The cough didn't get better so we found another vet to take a look at him and then had a new diagnosis which was Kennel Cough that had progressed into Pneumonia. We could handle this. Gave him some pretty strong antibiotics, one that would stop his growth plates from growing so he wouldn't get much bigger than he was. That was ok because he is a toy poodle and we didn't expect to have a huge dog.
When the antibiotics didn't kick in they decided that it was viral pneumonia. Well now it was just wait for it to run its course.
After a few more weeks of no improvement, and a very informative talking to by my dear friend, we decided that it was time to see a specialist.
We took him to the new vet who after looking at his x-rays informed us that Bob did not have pneumonia or Kennel cough. He wasn't quite sure what Bob did have but he had an idea.
He felt that the spot that looked like fluid in Bob's lung was actually a lymph node that had a fungal infection. He ran some very expensive tests...We got a Doggy Credit card to pay for them. Ouch!
His diagnosis was correct. Bob has Cocidiomycosis. Something that isn't seen in such young dogs. So now we have to try and get him better.
He's on 2 antifungal medications, a steroid and something to help him not have the coughing spasms.
He seems to be doing ok, but the treatment course is a long one, and providing it doesn't cause problems in his liver, he may have to take it the rest of his life.
He is actually eating much better now, probably the steroid and we are taking him into the shower to help him relax when he has a coughing fit. And trying to fatten him up a bit because he will only be on the steroid for two weeks and will probably lose his appetite.
He is such a sweet puppy and to have to go through all of this really is hard on him and us. We continue to have a strong faith that he will come through this ok and get to be the great doggy buddy for me.
For now I am totally guilty of pretty much spoiling him rotten to make his puppy time as much fun as it can be when he feels good :)
If anyone knows anything about Cocidiomycosis in dogs I'd sure like you to share it with me.

More on Bob |
If you have been here befor then you probably know a little about Bob. Bob was my Christmas present from Mitch and Bob is a Toy Poodle. He was born on October 23, 2006.
He is the sweetest puppy. But a week after we got Bob he started coughing. After some sleuthing we found out that Bob had Valley Fever which is uncommon in small dogs, and seemingly more uncommon (rare) in a puppy.
Bob started on his anti fungal meds a week ago and also a steroid. We are very hopeful that Bob will pull through this, but it's going to be a long haul.
Bob was looking a bit raggity and had broken one of his toenails. I did speak with the Veg about having him groomed and the Vet was concerned about the stress level for Bob. When he broke his tonail last week I knew I needed to at least get his nails done. So after some sleuthing on my own and with the help of a great trainer we met at PetCo, we hooked up with someone who would groom him even though he hasn't had his third puppy shot.
She came out to the house with a Mobile Grooming Van and took a good deal of time and gave Bob lots of love while she cleaned him up.
We wanted it taken care of before he goes off the steroid becuase he probably won't feel real well in the next few weeks.
So here are some before and after pics of Bob.
