About Me |
| I am a very happy newlywed. Probably the only thing in my life right now that I would change if I could would be my salary and my husband's job. Both of those will come, I just have to be patient. |

Well Hello There!:
Chad and I met by email. His mom and my sister worked together and thought Chad and I could be really good email friends. I was supposed to email him first and introduce myself but I could not think of anything to say. I know now Chad can talk to a brick wall which is why his first email to me was about three paragraphs long! It took us a month to meet in person after talking on the phone almost every day for not less than four hours per day. I am glad that we were able to get to know each other so well before we met. We knew a whole bunch about each other before we even met. We are such good friends now and truly like each other. Of course, we are also married and are in love but it is a good thing that we are best friends! |
Chad's Favorite Quote:
"For what it is, it is pretty good" |
Interests & Hobbies:
We both love to cook. It is hard for just one of us to cook for the other because neither of us can stay out of the kitchen. I have always wanted someone I could cook with and not fight about it! Works out great. Cooking is Chad's release. It gets his mind off of work. |
TV Shows:
We both love CSI Las Vegas. NCIS, Two & a Half Men and Ramsay are other shows we watch. |
Favorite Movies:
I can't get him to watch movies with me very often. I do know that his favorite is Dangerous Liasons. I like the updated version with Reese Witherspoon! |
Favorite Reads:
I like any murder mystery that is good and has alot of suspense.
Chad has to learn something to like it. He doesn't like fiction! He likes to read cookbooks but he doesn't cook out of them! |

Babies! |
| Not sure when or if that will happen, but someone was asking me when I am going to catch up with my sister that has a one year old and another on the way in July. I have no idea. We are going to have an age where we are not going to try to have children. I really don't want to be 70 with a kid in highschool. I guess it would keep us younger longer but who wants to deal with college money etc when in their 70's! I think we have decided if the kids don't come to us then we are buying a motorhome to travel the world. Either one sounds good to me! |

Live Nativity |
| Chad was a very good king in the Live Nativity at our church. He didn't get to ride the camel as we had first thought but there were three camels in the show. It was very emotional. I was so glad that he was a part of it. He really enjoyed doing it and people that were in the audience always commented on him as king. They would say, 'WOW' and 'There is a big one'. It was quite funny listening to all the comments, but they were all good ones. He was worn out by Sunday but it was well worth it!!! |

We had a great Christmas! |
| We went home and were able to visit with both of our families. Missed going outside and singing "Silent Night" at the church service because of rain. But it was a really good service as usual. Chad enjoyed it. We both received many wonderful gifts and Chad still thinks he got more than he deserves but he loves all his gifts he received. He is still having trouble getting used to the wallet I bought him...it is different. Of course, after carrying one for 18 years I would expect he would have trouble getting used to another one. Hopefully, he will get used to it soon. We are now spring cleaning in January. The house needs it though. We are having company come the end of this week! I can't wait! We always have a good time when friends visit, even though for a very short time. |

WE ARE MARRIED!!! |
Whew! what a hectic (but fun) past few days its been. Me and the new Mrs. Kilpatrick are enjoying the day just laying around doing nothing. (dont call us today tho... all the ringers are off and the ans machine is unplugged hahahahaha) What an awesome wedding it was.
Yesterday around seven a.m. Mike and Barb came over for breakfast and to help with things. Yet another last minute trip to walmart too. Mike and I made it over to Tracy's house about nine to fire up the smoker pit and get the meat going. (a big brisket and a stuffed ham) We enjoyed some relative calm for the next few hours. Sipping some single batch cut with a tad bit of sprite while tending the pecan wood fire in the pit. Tracy was busy as a bee in the kitchen peeling taters and making deviled eggs and the like.
Round noonish or therabouts some friends and family began to arrive and we spent the afternoon getting a chance to visit with loved ones and friends that were able to make it. We loved it cause its so rare at a wedding the bride and groom actually get to visit with the guests. Of course there were those that didnt get a chance to come so the round of cell phone well-wishes was a treat. About four or so Nikki and the ladies had a table of snacks and appetizers prepared so we all enjoyed them. I made a batch of smoked stuffed jalepenos too... ouch. Even after being washed, de-seeded and de-veined all the guests were in agreement these were the hottest jalepenos we had ever eaten. Nik's cousin Steve's girlfriend and I ate three but papa gary was able to get down four of them before fire shot out of his ears.
Rev. Gowling arrived a lil after five and was able to meet and greet with the guests. the Rev. is a neighbor of ours so it was an honor to have a friend be able to perform our ceremony. Our friend tracy lives on a small lake and we decided to say our vows down by the water. It was really beautiful. we couldnt have asked for better weather either. the past few weeks have been a broiling sunny 105 degrees but yesterday i dont think it even hit 90 and was overcast but never any rain. A light, friendly atmosphere, a CD of celtic instrumental music softly playing in the background, the rev. and I walk down to the bank of the lake.
Nikki is escorted by her father down to where we are and the rev. begins the ceremony. short, sweet, and to the point with a very appropriate scripture reading from Corinthians about Paul's definition of love. Nik and I were dressed nice/casual but barefooted for the ceremony. and no my friends i was NOT wearing tie-dye or overalls. hahahahaha Nik's ring is a shadow band to accompany her engagement ring and mine is a massive chunk of sterling silver that has Hebrew writing circling the outside of it making a design. translated it reads "my beloved is mine and I am hers"
After the ceremony we sat down to share a meal. I carved up the ham and brisket and everyone ate well. Thanks to all who helped with the sides too. I didnt get a chance to taste everything but what i did was all wonderful. Following that we had a toast. All the grownups got a glass of Umeshu. (a fabulous japanese plum wine) and tip of the hat to mr. chris babington for giving an excellent toast to nik and i. the crux of the toast was "ignore the unimportant things". very well done chris.
then was time to cut the cake. nik and i decided the plain old white cakes were tired and too common so we chose a cake called a "snickers cake"... YUMMY. of course we got the obligatory cake cutting pictures and no i didnt shove it all over nikki. (i admit i was tempted. LOL) after that some of the guests began to leave and we began to wind things down. finished off with a stint out on tracy's back porch sitting quietly with some friends and enjoying good company before she and I headed home.
to all of you that came, thank you so much for sharing in our wonderful day. to those of you that could not make it, thank you too for the well-wishes, cards, and phone calls. it will be a week or two before we have any of our pictures developed im guessing and may be a bit before we get them posted on our webpage so just hang in there and we will get to them when we can.
Thanks to all that were able to be there to share in our wonderful day!
