About Me |
| Kate Gallegos is an artist from Aurora, Illinois. She creates collages, montages, assemblages, miniature books, treasure boxes and other delights. Her favorite materials to use include paper ephemera, papier mache, watch parts, keys, charms, old postage stamps and other found objects. She also enjoys experimenting with polaroid transfers, altered books, encaustics, dabbling in the creation of art dolls and more. She has been published in two issues of the Memory & Dream zine, March/April Somerset Studio (tag art), and Vol. 9 of The Studio magazine (collaged CD and case). Kate was also the creator of PHOTOARTSTAMPS-which was the first company to make unmounted rubberstamp sheets from vintage photos & ephemera. Her work has been sold at the Mary Lou Zeek Gallery in Oregon. Most recently, one of her photoqraphs was published in a book released in November 2004 called What Hollywood Can Learn From Us.
