  About Me
I’ve lived in several different parts of the country and absorbed regional folk art and design influences in all of them—Midwestern, Southwestern, and Appalachian. I studied art, including jewelry-making, at Kansas University, but I never really found my niche until, in 2000, I discovered polymer clay. It’s a medium ideally suited to folk art (art “for folks”) because the clay itself is readily available, and even the most ordinary kitchen- and hardware-store tools can create magic when used with this versatile medium.
I started working with polymer clay by creating decorative objects for the home. Later I began to make my own beads and incorporate them into original mixed-media jewelry. As I constantly discovered new techniques for creating surface texture and pattern, I experimented with using polymer clay as a two-dimensional painting medium. This has become my favorite creative outlet, and I’ve taught my painting method to students across the country.
My most recent venture is hand-crafting keepsakes and “little treasures” for weddings and other special celebrations. From simple party favors to one-of-a kind jeweled bouquet embellishments, my creations are designed to reflect the hosts’ tastes and traditions.
