About Me |
My name is Sharon and I am an addict. I have been stamping for over 13 years. I have always been involved in art. At 11 I made a 5 foot purple, papier mache giraffe with pink spots. Imagine my father's face when he came to school to pick me up in his Volkswagen Beetle! I continued my quest through high school dabbling in ceramics, pen and ink, pastels and slate carving. I opted out of college following high school, (BIG mistake) and worked as a bookkeeper. After a stint in college at night in accounting, I decided that collAge, not collEge was my future. After marrying and having a child I found artistic happiness painting and selling clothing -- remember sweats?
I have kept myself busy crafting ever since. Decorative painting, glass painting, ceramics, wax sculpture, marbling, woodworking, e-gahds I can't remember it all, and finally rubber stamping! After being encouraged by my online friends, I have been painting and drawing and am enjoying the creative process regardless of the outcome.
Oh yea, my other life... I am a preschool teacher teaching 4 year-olds and I LOVE it and them. Euphoria is going to work and coming home to my studio. Unfortunately, cleaning, shopping and laundry don't fit in to that picture. Cooking is a naughty word. Oh well.

The Man Behind the Woman |
Ahh, Howard. An enigma, a total mystery to the female population. A hard worker, Howie is creative in his own right. Whether restoring his pinball machine, installing a new toilet (4 women in the family, need I say more?) or fixing something in the house, Howie is always busy. It took a while but he built me the most awesome studio. It looked so roomy before I moved my stuff in. It must have shrunk. When not doing one of the aforementioned activities, you can ALWAYS find him in front of his computer. The best thing we've ever agreed to agree on is: "You don't ask me how much I spent at AC Moore or Michaels and I won't ask you how much you spent at Radio Shack or Home Depot." Harmony has found a home! At least regarding this issue.

RUBBER STAMP WARNING!! |
RUBBER STAMP WARNING!!
A recent study indicated that rubber stamps and embossing powders give off certain pheromones that actually hypnotize women and cause them to purchase unreasonable amounts.
When stored in large quantities in enclosed spaces, the pheromones (Rubber) cause memory loss and induce the nesting syndrome (similar to the one squirrels have before the onset of winter i.e. storing food), therefore perppetuating their species.
Sound tests have also revealed that the rubber emits a very high pitched sound, heard only by a select few;a breed of women known as "Rubber Stampers". When played backwards on an LP, the sounds are heard as
chants ,"buy me, stamp me, emboss me".
Studies have also indicated that aliens have inhabitated the earth, helping to spread the effects that these "Stamps" have on the human population.
It's also been experienced that these same
pheromones cause a pathological need to hide these "Stamp" purchases when taken home (or at least blend them into the existing stash), and when asked by a significant other if the stamp is new, the reply is: "I've had it for a while!"

Alison - Daughter #1 |
| Ali is the oldest of my three beautiful girls. Ali took art lessons from the time she was 8 years-old to the time she turned 16. Studying Finance and Economics proved to be too stifling for the eldest of my creative daughters. After much soul searching, Ali transferred colleges and became a fine arts student. After difficulty drawing nudes, which is not as glamorous as it sounds, Ali has now graduated with a degree in graphic arts. She is my partner in crime in all things art. Ali is my "babycakes" and I am her "mommycakes". |

Jillian - Daughter #2 |
| Jillian is my terrifically gifted literary daughter. She is a very put-together, enthusiastic kid. She just graduated college with a degree in literature and is hoping to work in a publishing/editing firm. She is a happy, lively, incredibly interesting person who brings excitement and fun where ever she goes. Jillian loves me "to the dot in the sky" and I love her "TDITS and back". |

Emma - Daughter #3 |
| Emma is my beloved "icing on the cake". She is a precocious, energetic and talented 16 year-old. She has played the clarinet, piano and guitar well, albeit briefly. She is also a wonderful writer, when pressured to do a homework assignment. This past year she shocked us all when she started painting. Who knew she would excel at that too. Emma keeps me young and she endlessly entertains me with her quick wit and off-beat sense of humor. Emma is my "Wibbly" and in return, I am her "Wobbly"! |
