Liberian Orphan Relief effort |
Since 2003, Cause for Creation handmade card proceeds have been donated on a regular basis to the Liberian Orphan Relief project of the Browntown Baptist Church World Mission; an ecumenical effort based in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Timeline:
2007:Christmas card project raised $600.00 for the purchase of furniture for the new school at AAMOM.
2006: The Peace Dove Card project raised enough money to purchase 12 sets of bunk beds fro AAMOM. Additonally, we are very happy to report that with further donations coming in as a result of the awareness raised by the Peace Dove card project, the boy's dormitiory at AAMOM will now be fully furnished with bunk beds for all! The Cause for Creation card proceeds were donated through the Browntown Baptist Church World Mission- see more @ www.bbcwm.org OR go directly to AAMOM web page: www.bbcwm.org/aamom.htm
Previous projects:
May 2006: CFC proceeds contributed to the purchase of medical and agricultural supplies which were shipped by Browntown Baptist Church, to the Alfred and Agnes Memorial Orphan Mission in Liberia.
August 20, 2005: A full 40 foot container was shipped from Harrisonburg, Va. by the Browntown Baptist Church for Liberian Orphan Relief. 'Cause for Creation' proceeds helped to purchase school supplies and clothing for that shipment.
2003-2004: Cause for Creation proceeds purchased 2 hand well pumps, school supplies and rice which were sent in several container shipments.

Animal Welfare and Local Community |
Another version of one of my favorite St. Francis quotes: "God requires that we assist the animals when they need our help. Each being, human or creature, has the same right of protection"
Locally, Cause for Creation proceeds are donated on a regular basis by participation in fundraisng events in the Harrisonburg and Shenandoah Valley area of Virginia to benefit local SPCA and animal rescue groups.
UPDATE: Mosby Foundation Fundraiser: On October 29, 2006 Cause for Creation participated in the Mosby Foundation fundraiser in Harrisonburg, Va. 100% of CFC proceeds were donated from silent auction gift items and cards vended during this event. http://www.themosbyfoundation.org/
